Jewish leader says Islam is being demonised

Have asked Davis to substantiate his unsubstantaited allegation that MPAC donates money to Irvine - have also asked MPAC to comment. Meanwhile, whilst neither ante-up, we withold judgement. Here's another MPAC item:

The president of the Union for Reform Judaism accused American media, politicians and religious groups on Friday of demonising Islam.
Addressing the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America, Rabbi Eric Yoffie said Muslims have been turned into "satanic figures."
"There exists in this country among all Americans, whether Jews, Christians, or non-believers, a huge and profound ignorance about Islam ... there is no shortage of voices prepared to tell us that fanaticism and intolerance are fundamental to Islamic religion, and that violence and even suicide bombing have deep Koranic roots," he said.

My allegations are far from unsubstantiated. I resent this attack on my credibility and maintain that we ought to have no contact with these thugs, who are part of the problem while claiming to have the solution.

I am very troubled by this post and will most certainly not engage in any debate with MPAC, who should not be graced with legitimacy.

Please do not attack my credibility with allegations of this nature when even the shortest google search would have revealed I am correct. I accept I should have included the reference in the initial post.

Please you accept that it is time to stop any relationship with an organisation which has long since been exposed as unhelpful at best, and extremist at worst. Our energies are needed in more constructive fora.

Davis, I appreciate this is a questionable organisation which sometimes walks the edge. But so is Palestinian Media Watch. This is a very hard call. Asghar Bukhari is described as one of the founder members of MPAC and he - not MPAC - has supported Irvine. He is not the Chief Executive or Chairman or Director of MPAC. He is a member. MPAC has, allbeit extremely grudgingly - condemned Asghar Bukhari, describing his actions as "Gravely mistaken". I have noticed that there stuff started quite biased but has moderated a little over the past year. We should in some way ban them? That's not our usual practice but maybe we should have a working groupo meeting on this and other current issues vis a vis racism in the West. Let's plan a small meeting soon and discuss this. Meanwhile I will put this issue as a discussion topic on the website.

Reading Allah’s orders out of the Qur'an's 8th surah, imams preach: "O Prophet, urge the faithful to fight. If there are twenty among you with determination they will vanquish two hundred; if there are a hundred then they will kill a thousand Infidels, for they are a people devoid of understanding." This is the math of terror. It is possible because infidels are ignorant of Islam. And you should know, the Qur'an defines "Infidels" in the 5th surah. "They are surely Infidels who say Christ, the Messiah is God." (5:72)

So as not to be accused of unfairly singling out a less-than-peaceful surah from the Qur'an, listen to how Allah recruits suicide bombers in the 4th surah: "Those who barter their life in this world for the next should fight in the way of Allah; whether he is killed or victorious, a glorious reward awaits." "Urge the believers to keep back the might of the Infidels." "Seize them and kill them wherever they are." "Muslims who sit idle are not equal to those who fight in Allah’s Cause with their wealth and lives. Allah has exalted those who fight for Islam."

( I hope this makes enough sense that Islam is religion of terror, and nothing but only terror, we all are infidels as on muslims ans they have a right to kill us. So those of you who show sympathy towards Islam are perhaps ignorant or scared. Like us Chritians try to live in a Middle east Islamic country then maybe your would understand our plight )
